Obituary of Jean Marie Cooke
On February 10th, 2023 Jean lost her fight to cancer. She passed away peacefully at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Paul Cooke, her children Stel and Chris (Amanda), her sister Val, brothers George and Sid, her aunts Theresa and Yvonne, and her grandchildren River, Rowan, Saira, Jayda, Chloe, DJ, and Savannah. She is pre-deceased by her mother Rose, father Cecil, mother-in-law Stella and father-in-law Mansell.
Jean was a strong determined person who went back to school later in life. She received her high school diploma in 2002 and graduated with a Bachelor of Community Studies from University of Cape Breton in 2006. Jean was dedicated to her work at the Labrador Group Home. She will be remembered by her big heart.
Visitation: Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Fillatres Funeral Home 7pm-9pm. Funeral service taking place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1pm.
