James Edward Peddle

November 5, 1941 – February 13, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Edward Peddle announce his passing on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 60 years Carol Anne (nee Mealey); children: Greg (Lois Periera-Peddle), Karen Reid (Michael), Thomas (Elizabeth Campbell) and Richard (Stephanie); grandson Brandon Peddle; sisters and brothers: Elizabeth Parsons (Junior), Leo Peddle, William Peddle (Paula Dyke-Peddle) and Carla Scott (Gordon); sisters and brothers--in-law: Frances Jones (Gordon), Elizabeth Mealey, Patricia Kavanagh (Paul), Agnes Jones, Rhoda Peddle and Nina Martin Peddle; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Martha Peddle, grandson Andrew Periera-Babb, brothers and sisters Gerald Peddle, Robert Peddle, Joan Brake, Catherine (Byron) Oldford, Mary Hynes and Thomas Peddle, brothers-in-law Douglas and David Mealey. A sincere thank you to staff at the Dementia Bungalows and Corner Brook Long Term Care for their care of dad over the last 8 years. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17 at 1:30 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society.
