Obituary of Jackie Leonard Shiwak

It is with sadness that the family of the late Jackie Shiwak, announce his sudden passing on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Labrador Health Centre (LGH), at the age of 71 years.

Leaving to mourn, his sister: Sheila (Claire); niece: Valerie (Stephen); nephew: Douglas;  step-nephew: Patrick; great-nephews: Justin and Jonathan; and great-niece: Emma. Jackie had some special friends - both residents and staff that were very close to him where he lived at the Labrador Friendship Centre assisted living home. 

Jackie was predeceased by his father: Harold and mother: Millicent. 

The family wishes to send our gratitude to the emergency staff at LGH who gave Jackie the upmost care and compassion during his final hours. 

As an expression of sympathy, the family asks you to consider a donation to the Labrador Friendship Centre food bank in Jackie's memory. 

There will be a funeral service at Happy Valley - Goose Bay United Church, on Tuesday, February 21st, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. With reverend Wayne Blackwood officiating. Interment to follow at the United cemetery.
