Obituary of Catherine Russell

It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine Flora Russell announce her passing on February 19th, 2023 at her home in Northwest River, NL. 

Everyone knew her as Kay. Kind, loving, and full of life. Beloved wife, mother, gram, sister, and friend. 

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her beloved husband of 50 years: Frank Russell, along with sons Frank (Mandy) Russell, Keith (Brenda) Russell, and Kenny Russell. 

Her most prized treasures her grandchildren: Alicia, Keith, Liam and Luke.

Her sisters: Emily (Andrew) Lukacik (Calgary), and Gussie (Sterling) Saunders (Goose Bay).  Sister in-law: Shirley (Ted) Harding (St. John’s), Peggy (Marcel) Theroux (NB), Roxanne (Ronnie) Montague (Goose Bay), Rick Russell (Goose Bay), sister-in-law: Lillian Edmunds (Goose Bay), and brother-in-law: Pat Bird. 

Special friends who were near and dear to her: Patty Way, Winnie McLean, and John Mitchell.

She was predeceased by her parents: Norman and Eliza Edmunds, parents-in-law: Francis Joseph and Maude Russell, as well as her brother: Walter Edmunds and sister-in-law: Rose Russell. 

She also leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 2:00pm St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay. There will be a reception following the funeral at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 51. All are welcome.
