Jade Peter Durnford

November 20^th, 1997 – February 17^th, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jade Durnford announce his passing at his residence on February 17^th, 2023, at the age of 25. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his mother, Maria Durnford (and long time friend Jerome Lasaga); sister Staci Durnford; grandmother Blanche Durnford; aunt Sonia Barter (Lee); uncles Ron Durnford and Gary Durnford; cousins Stephanie Benoit (Corey), Damien Barter (Valerie); his older sisters on his father’s side: Lisa and Melissa Barron; nephew Cameron Barron and niece Kali Barron. Furthermore, Jade leaves to mourn his foster parents in Lark Harbour, Hazel and George Sheppard; special foster sister Georgia Sheppard and all of their family and friends.

He will be surely missed by his best buddies Christian and Sebastian Payne, Jordan Andrews, and Jeremy Saunders; and of course, Staci’s aunt Terri Sparkes (Jason).

Jade is predeceased by his father Butch Barron; older brother Scott Barron; and special friend Alex McCarthy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue; next to Olympic Place where Jade lived with his family for many years. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 25 Main Street with Reverend Catherine Short officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
