Obituary of Heidi Anne (Park) Lafford
Please share a memory of Heidi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Heidi Anne (Park) Lafford of Sackville passed away on February 21st, 2023, at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 43 with her loving partner by her side.
She was the daughter of Roy and Florence (Ball) Park of Deer Lake, NFLD.
Heidi was born and grew up in Deer Lake, where she attended school and played basketball and ringette. She joined the Canada Games Team for ringette and the Provincial Winter Games Team for basketball. Heidi then took her love of basketball to St. Thomas University, in Fredericton N.B., playing for the Tommies and earning a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology). It was here where she first met John.
Heidi then went on to Queens University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Heidi then chose to travel spending time with her friends, and work in North Bay as an Occupational Therapist with school children.
Heidi moved to Sackville NB in 2007 to be with John and worked at Mt. Allision University Learning Center helping students with disabilities. She also volunteered and was on the Board of the Tantramar Resource Center and Playschool Inc.
John and Heidi married in 2010, and began their life together starting a family, having 4 beautiful girls. Family was the most important thing to Heidi; she was a devoted mother - John and the girls were her world. She provided unwavering and unconditional support as they grew their family business. Heidi supported John and was the inspiring force in their journey.
She is survived by her husband John, her children, Quinn, Gwyneth, Elle and Caroline. Her parents, Florence and Roy Park, brother Jaimie (Dawn), her mother-in-law, Patricia Lafford, along with a large extended family of brothers and sisters-in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Heidi wished, as well as John, to thank the following people who helped the family with their caregiving, love and kindness; Yoshi Gates, Paula Green, Kim Lohness and Carol Fawcett.
