Obituary of Peter Elias Anthony Basha

Peter Elias Anthony Basha
June 18, 1955 – February 23, 2023

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of the late Peter Elias Anthony Basha, the youngest sibling of 11 children of the late Elias T. Basha and Mary Basha Wellon, of Curling, NL, announce his passing on February 23, 2023, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age of 67 years. He was known by his friends as “Elias” and by his family as “Yank”.

Elias will always be remembered by his son Matthew Bailey and grandson Isaac; brothers and sisters: Mary Elizabeth Basha (Bill), Kathleen Limberis (Pete), David Basha (Mil), Anthony Basha, Martha Basha, Noel Basha; sisters-in-law Christine Basha and Linda Basha; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Elias was predeceased by his parents Elias T. Basha and Mary Basha Wellon; his stepfather William Wellon; brothers: Thomas, Joseph, Michael and Nicholas; sisters-in-law: Mary Basha and Diane Basha; and his niece Mary Ann Basha.

Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Sunday, February 26^th, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 27^th, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 469 Curling Street with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Cecilia Cemetery.
