It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce Normore announce her passing at Western Long Term Care Home on March 7, 2023, at the age of 84 years.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Bertha “Bobbie” (Peter) Brake, Keith Normore (Mercy Trecene); grandchildren: Aaron Brake and Destine Brake; siblings: Mary Bailey (Gerald), Rachel Ricks, Priscella Regular, Albert Thomas (Shirley), Emily Regular (Seavey), as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents: Harriet Ricks and Alexander Francis; husband: Horwood (Roy) Darius Normore; sister: Jean Saunders; grandsons: Nathan Brake, Shaun Brake; and special great niece Danielle Easton.

Joyce was an avid member of the ACW for St. Michael’s Parish, as well as the 50+ Club. She always enjoyed a good game of bingo, playing darts, spending time with her family, and attending church.

As per the families wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church in Corner Brook on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Mickton Phiri officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted, or donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Western Long Term Care Home through the Western Regional Hospital Foundation.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Still Waters Unit at Western Long Term Care Home, the staff of Western Health’s 4th Floor Surgical Unit and also to Joyce’s Nurse Practitioner, Miranda Church.
