It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby McCarthy announce her passing on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Western Long Term Care Palliative Care unit at the age of 98 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Wayne (Lynne) McCarthy of Codroy Valley, Pauline (Johnny) Gale of Codroy Valley, Beverly (Terry) Park of Corner Brook; grandchildren: Richard, Jane, Janet, Tobi, Douglas, Jason, Pamela, Terri and Melanie; great-grandchildren: Justin, Samantha, Logan, April, Nicholas, Nathan, Alexander, Kayden, Kennedy, Tyler, Amelia, Emily and Devon; brother-in-law; Eugene (Mona) McCarthy of Springdale; special niece: Earminie (John) Wagner of Curling.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” McCarthy, daughter Judy (Bert) Leblanc, her parents, siblings, and brothers-in-law: Albert Little of Upper Island Cove, Edward (Una) McCarthy of Corner Brook and Dennis McCarthy of Corner Brook.

Public visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Fillatre Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, at 10:00 am at All Hallows Parish, 109 Humber Road, with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to Dr. Wadhwa for his exceptional care of their mother, and also to all of the staff at Westmount Estates, her new home.
