It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Marie Blanchard announce her passing on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 94 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Alvin (Cathy) Blanchard, Patricia (Hubert) Blanchard, Baxter (Mary) Blanchard, Darlene (Dave) Ruth and Doreen (Jerome) Bennett; daughters-in-law: Janet Blanchard and Wanda Newbury; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers: Edward House and Alex (Lorraine) House; sister-in-law Joan House; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Garland Blanchard, sons Irvin (Effie) Blanchard, Lloyd Blanchard and Junior Blanchard, daughters Joyce and Gertrude Blanchard, grandson Fraser Blanchard, parents Luke and Rachel House, sisters Eunice (Joe) Ruth and Catherine (Eli) Payne, brothers Wilfred (Kathleen) House and Luke House, sister-in-law Ruby House. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church in Gillams with Rev. George Critchell officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Meadows. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
