Joyce and Churchill met in their hometown and became a couple in 1958, together made their life there where they remained for the majority of their years. Joyce and Churchill are soulmates, no two people could love each other anymore than they did, whatever they did, they did it together. As a mother, she was simply the best. She gave her all to each of her children and always took pride in doing so. Her children always came first in her eyes. As a daughter, Joyce always talked of daddy and mom, her sisters and brothers, there was a lot of love in that family and she enjoyed talking about the memories of her childhood. As a grandmother and great grandmother, she loved those babies to the moon and back, and so did they. Even though she had 10 grandchildren and great grandchildren, she had plenty of patience, love and life lessons to pass around. Joyce was an aunt to many, and a friend to everyone, whoever had the pleasure to be a part of her life were lucky to have done so.  Her family and friends will always have fond memories to cherish.

Joyce loved family gatherings more than anything, she also enjoyed being outside, spending time at the beach, having outdoor fires roasting marshmallows and wieners, spending time in the woods, cooking and baking for everyone to enjoy. She was also a devoted member of Heatherton United Church and a dedicated volunteer for the UCW, she was a women of great faith. She passed many of her beliefs on through her family. She had a special way about her that made everyone around her feel welcomed, loved and cared for.

We are truly blessed to of had this amazing women in our lives, she will be deeply missed by her loved ones, but her family will live on with part of her engraved into our core.

“A wife, a mother, a grandma too, is the legacy we have from you. You taught us love and how to fight, you gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger person would be hard to find, and in your heart you were always kind. You fought for us all in one way or another, not just as a wife, not just as a mother.

For all of us you gave your best, and now the time has come for you to rest, so go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, your love in our hearts we will eternally keep”
