Obituary of Barbara Anne Sheppard (CARD OF THANKS)

The family of the late Barbara Sheppard would like to extend a special thank you to all friends and family for their condolences, thoughts, flowers, donations and support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the doctors and "angel nurses" at Palliative Care and the doctors and nurses at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, 3rd floor A&B Unit, for their compassion and care they've given to our mom. Another special thank you to the staff of Fillatre's Funeral Home for all their help, support and guidance during this time. We appreciate each and every one of you.

December 2, 1945 – March 28, 2023

It is with broken hearts that we, the family of our dear mother, announce her passing at the Western Long Term Care Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the age of 77 years.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her son: Bradley (Allison), her daughter: Beverly (Kerry), and the greatest joys of her life whom she loved dearly, her grandchildren: Caitlyn and Christopher. She will also be missed by the extended families of George and Verna Miller, and Leslie and Elizabeth Sheppard.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Samuel Sheppard in 2015.

As per Anne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Public visitations will be held on Monday, April 3, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Fillatre Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 4, at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral, 25 Main Street, with The Very Reverend Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Anne’s memory may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children (402-2631-28th Avenue, Regina, SK  S4S 6X3), the Parkinson Society Newfoundland & Labrador (136 Crosbie Road, Suite 305, St. John’s, NL  A1B 3K3), or to a charity of one’s choice.
