Obituary of Peter Graham Vardy (CARD OF THANKS)

The family of the late Peter Graham Vardy would like to express our thanks and gratitude to everyone who has shown your support through this difficult time.

To everyone who has called, sent messages, donations, food and flowers please know we truly appreciate your kindness and generosity. It has been overwhelming to know how many lives Peter has touched.

We would like to give a special thank you to the paramedics who attended our home, the nurses / Doctors at Western Memorial Emergency Department as well as the nurses / Doctors at Palliative Care. The kindness and compassion shown on those days was amazing and so very much appreciated.

Peter Graham Vardy
November 13, 1965 - April 8, 2023

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that the family of the late Peter Graham Vardy announce his passing at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, April 8th, 2023, at the age of 57 surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his loving mother Elaine (nee - Noseworthy); brothers: Gary (Lorella), Greg (Denise); nephews and nieces: Cole, Luke, Raine, Brooke, Reese and Nicholas and Matthew; his special aunt Annette Lange (Volker) and aunt Jackie Vardy; as well as many loving cousins. He is also survived by Daphne Bartlett who played such a huge loving and caring role in Peter’s life. Peter is now reunited with his father Gary Graham Vardy.

Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday April 11th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. The funeral service will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook on Wednesday, April 12th @ 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Mickton Phiri Officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Peter’s memory may be made to the Newfoundland & Labrador Down Syndrome Society or the Special Olympics (Western division of Newfoundland and Labrador) in lieu of flowers.

Many heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Western Memorial Palliative Care Center for their compassion and ongoing care.
