It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kevin Joseph Hickey announce his passing on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his home in Benoits Cove surrounded by his loving family at the age of 67 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Judy (nee Pittman); son Kevin (Julie); daughter Kim (Johnny); grandchildren: Brittany (Sheldon), Brandon (Candace), Travis and Taylor (Kaydan); great-grandchild Marissa; sisters and brothers: Mary Ellen, Marie (Alban), Gloria (Paul), Willis (June), Marina (George), Geneva, Wayne (Caroline), Elaine (Gord), Derek (Mary) and Maureen (Brian); sisters and brothers-in-law: Eric (Ella), Irene, Edna (Tom), Bill (Gloria), Pauline (Gordon), Audrey and Ella (Seymore); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Mildred, parents-in-law Augustus and Lillian, sisters and brothers Doreen, Cyril, Michael, Lorraine and Joan, sister-in-law Gladys (Wilson), brothers-in-law Dave, Ted, Tom and Lloyd.

Special thanks to Gloria and Mary Ellen who have spent countless hours at his side during his illness, as well as Marion. Also, a special thanks to Lawrence McCarthy for his care and compassion.

 Kevin devoted his life most importantly to his family but his second love was fishing and being on the water.

As per Kevin’s wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no formal funeral service. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

As expressions of sympathy, a donation to the charity of one’s choice will be graciously accepted.
