Obituary of William Brothers

WILLIAM J. BROTHERS CORNER BROOK, NL November 25, 1932 … February 2, 2010 With his family by his side who loved him very much William Joseph Brothers passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 77 years. He was predeceased by wife Mary of 51 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories special friend Grace Butler; six children: Joan Lewis (Don), Corner Brook, Maxine Lewis (Barry), Corner Brook, Bill Brothers (Khandi), Edmonton, Alberta, Annette Curson (Fred), Ottawa, Ontario, Glen Brothers (Marina), Halfway Point and Cherie Brothers, Calgary, Alberta. Nine precious grandchildren: Courtney Lewis, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Jason Lewis, Kayla and Alicia Brothers, Lucas Curson, Brianna and Braeden Brothers; brothers: Art , Long Harbour, Reg (Mabel), PEI, Ford, Fermuse and Gord (Cecilia), Long Harbour; sisters: Florence (Al), Hopper, Ontario, Gladys Ursy, Chicago, Anne (Max) Butler, St. John’s, Beth (Jack) Keating, St. John’s and Shirley (Gary) Hitchcock, Ontario; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends especially his Brother Knights from Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his parents: Dora (1986) and Clifford (1987); brother: Lawrence, Long Harbour; sisters: Patricia Infante, Ontario, Marie Farrison, Ohio; brothers-in-law: Mario Infante, Ontario, Leo Ryan, Fermuse; sisters-in-law: Lucy Brothers, Long Harbour and Frances Brothers, Long Harbour. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday and Friday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 10:30 AM from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer with Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations maybe made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Daffodil Place).
