It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pearl Triphena Sharpe (nee Randell) announce her passing on April 17, 2023, at Corner Brook Long Term Care, at the age of 98 years. Left to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her daughters: Lynda (Lewis) Evans, Margaret (Mike) Boland, and Susan (Ron) Marshall; her grandchildren: Christopher (Gillian) Loder, Michelle Bishop, Robin Boland, Reggie (Carleen) Boland, Devin (Diane) Marshall and Megin (Ryan) Churnside; her great-grandchildren: Rebecca Bishop, Joel Loder, Jake Loder, Roan Churnside and Hunter Boland; sisters-in-law: Joan Randell, Muriel Randell and Lou Randell; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pearl was predeceased by her husband William Sharpe; parents William and Deborah Randell; parents-in-law John and Emma Sharpe; granddaughter Pamela Loder; brothers: Herb, Clarence (Minnie), Willis (Janet), Lindsey (Ivy), Sterling, Chelsey (Betty), Whitfield (Emily), Doug (Joyce) and Murray; sisters: Madeline (Vern) Leikan, Bessie (Eric) Stafford, Margaret Randell and Eunice (John) Dunphy; and her siblings-in-law: Rita (Stanley) Brinston, Boyce (Minnie) Sharpe, Queenie (William) March, Olive (Weldon) Hart, and James (Winnie) Sharpe.
Pearl was devoted to her church and faith. She was an avid church goer, a lifetime member of A.C.W and the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Echo Senior's Club. Some of Pearl’s favourite things in life were her knitting, a good game of cards, and spending time outdoors, where she spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with her husband William.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The family requests that masks be worn during the visitation. Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 20th at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral, 25 Main Street with Reverend Catherine Short officiating. The family requests masks be worn at the church. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Donations may be made in Pearl’s memory to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff of 3 South, Corner Brook Long Term Care for all their kindness and compassion given to our mom. Another special thank you to Alva and John Vardy for all their help in our time of need.
