Obituary of Jonathan Allister McDonald

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Jonathan Allister McDonald who passed away on Friday, April 20^th, 2023 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at the age of 38 years.

Jonathan was predeceased by his Mother Dollie McDonald; Grandparents Alfred and Hazel Anderson along with Grandparents Frank and Jessie McDonald with a large number of aunts and uncles.

Jonathan leaves to mourn with many loving memories his father, Allister; brother Marcel; sister-in-law Kalene; nieces Allie and Sophia; nephews Austin and Ben as well as extended relatives, and close friends.  

Respecting Jonathan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will take place at the Anglican Church in Burgeo. Date to be announced in early May.  Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery following the service.

As expressions of sympathy, as per Jonathan’s request, donations may be made to the Bay St. George Sick Children’s Foundation or to the NL chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Dwyer and the staff of the medicine , palliative care and surgical units at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their kind and compassionate care for Jonathan.
