Obituary of Hughie John Charles Parsons

Hughie Parsons
March 19, 1948 - May 11, 2023
 

It is with heavy hearts that we bring the news that Hughie Parsons passed away on May 11th, 2023.

Hughie was born on March 19th in Hampden, White Bay, Newfoundland. He crossed over at the age of 75, peacefully in the palliative care unit in Corner Brook with his daughters by his side.

Left to mourn are his loving partner and dear friend Sandra, his three children John (Krista), Jill (Jay), and Janet (Oliver). His grandchildren Austin, Colton, Calvin, and Isabella. His sisters, Grace, Joyce, Norma, and Eddie and his many nieces and nephews who were close to him. 

Hughie was charismatic, fun-loving, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to Mother Earth.

He always loved spending time with animals, exploring nature, reading books, connecting with the Universe; and of course, soaking up the sun. 

His youthful spirit was magnetic to his grandchildren. He shone brightly when he spent time playing with them; and he had a natural way of connecting and making them feel special. 

His love for sales started as a young boy when he was helping his mother with her entrepreneurial ventures. This developed into many years of travelling Canada sharing his passion for business and management.

He proudly received recognition and awards for his accomplishments in the companies he's worked for.

Hughie had a warm grounded presence about him; and could have an engaging chat with anyone about all topics in life, making those around him feel welcomed and important.

He saw the glass half full, and would leave you feeling optimistic about any challenges you were facing. 

Hughie always had a way of motivating and encouraging others to believe in themselves. And he would always say “May all your dreams and wishes come true."

He will be deeply missed and remembered always. 

Predeceased by his parents Betty and John Parsons. Brothers Bill Parsons, Wesley Parsons, and sisters Madeleine Dove and Kay Wells. 

We want to extend our thank you to the staff at the ICU and palliative care in Corner Brook, who were so nurturing during his care.

Hughie’s cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be at a later time with his family in Ontario.
