Obituary of Dennis Raymond Thomas

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and uncle: Dennis Thomas passed peacefully on May 21^st, 2023, at the age of 74 years.

He was born in L’Anse-au-Clair, Labrador and lived there all of his life.

His love for the sea and fishing spanned more than forty years, accompanied by his family/brothers: Clyde, Eric, Sam, Hollis (Holly), Marvin, Leon and Kerry. They forged an exceptional living on the sea.

His family was his world, and it was evident in everything he did. He was happiest surrounded by them, quietly watching them enjoy themselves and ensuring their every need was met.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Thomas; children: Marven (Nancy), Angie (Shawn), and Merlin (Sonia); grandchildren: Damien (Jessica), Zoe (Paul), Brady, Jimmy (Alana), Corey and Mia; great-grandchild Jaylee; his brother Clyde along with a large circle of nephews, nieces, brothers- and sisters- in law, family, and friends.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents: Raymond Thomas and Hazel Letto; brothers: Sam, Eric, and Hollis; his in-laws: Richard and Laura Barney.

There will be a family service taking place at the Anglican Church in L’Anse au Clair on Tuesday, May 23^rd, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the Anglican Church in L’Anse au Clair on Wednesday, May 24^th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
