Obituary of Frances Ena Baikie

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frances Ena Baikie announce her passing at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL, on Monday, May 22nd, 2023, at the age of 77 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband of 49 years and 10 months, Thomas Baikie; children: Jason (Larissa) Baikie, and Leanne (John) Lambert; her cherished and much-loved grandchildren: Aiden Lambert, Deklan and Meryk Carroll; sisters-in-law: Hannah Massie and Christine Baikie; and brother-in-law: Clifford Lloyd. Also leaving to mourn are her many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Frances was predeceased by her father: Sylvester Matthews; mother: Winnifred (Oldford) Matthews; father-in-law: James Baikie; mother-in-law: May (Blake) Baikie; sisters-in-law: Ethel (Baikie) McLean, Fiona (Baikie) Mercer, Alvina (Baikie) Mauer, Betty (Baikie) Lloyd, Katie (Butt) Baikie; brothers-in-law: Max McLean, Stanley Baikie and Norman Baikie.
A visitation will be held at Fillatre Funeral Home, Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL, on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, from the hours 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. with family and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled to take place at the United Church in Happy Valley - Goose Bay, NL, on Friday, June 2nd, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Blackwood officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. The funeral service will be live streamed on Leanne Celeste Lamberts facebook page.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
Frances will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was kind, compassionate, and sweet.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oromocto Hospital, New Brunswick; Long Term Care home and staff in Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL; nursing staff at the Labrador Health Centre, Dr. MaGee, and Dr. Forsey. Our family would also like to thank those who made it possible to bring Frances back to Labrador. Also, thank you to all who took the time to show compassion to our family at this time.
