It is with great sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Susan Reid on June 1, 2023 at the age of 88 years at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit. Elizabeth “Bessie” was born and raised in Corner Brook. She leaves to mourn with many loving memories her 4 children: Tim (Margaret), John (Valarie), Joann (George) and Colleen (Nelson); 3 grandchildren: Caitlin, Devin and Eric (Stacy); her great-granddaughter Addison; sister Margaret “Peggy” Jacobs; special nephew Shawn Gallant. Bessie is predeceased by her husband Reginald, parents Herb and Hilda Shears and brother Bob Shears. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will take place on Monday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. from First United Church, Park Street with Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Bessie was a proud Newfoundlander. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Bessie’s memory to The Shriners Transportation Fund. mazolshriners.com
