Walter Gordon Roberts

September 6, 1941 - June 3, 2023

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Walter Gordon Roberts of Hawke's Bay, NL. announce his passing on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre while surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 81.                                                     

Walter lived a humble lifestyle with a passion for outdoor activities. It was during these times, special memories were made. Walter loved his family first and foremost, he loved the backcountry, especially his trappers cabin at Main Part.  He liked to hunt, fish, trap and to spend time with the boys cutting wood. He was an exceptional truck driver for 45 years, taking pride in his work while loving every minute of it.  He trucked from St.  Anthony to St.  John's including some of the Atlantic provinces where he met and made many friends along the way.  Once he retired, Walter spent a lot of time at home keeping busy and sharing time with his loving wife and family.             

Walter will be remembered but never forgotten.                       

He leaves to mourn a loving and devoted wife of 59 years; Greta (House) and  their 4 children: Verna, Glenda (Bobby), Walter Jr. (Angela), Bonita (Byron).  Grandchildren:  Ricky, Rebecca, Ryan, Jeffery, Robin, Stephanie, Aletha, Moya, Michaela, Sidney, Chloe and many great - grandchildren.  Walter leaves behind his one and only sibling his sister Marie (Bill Gatehouse).

Walter is predeceased by parents Roland and Cecilia Roberts, parents-in-law Sidney and Deborah House and sister-in-law Cynthia House.

Cremation has taken place.

Funeral and burial will be at a later date.
