Obituary of George Frederick Mugford

GEORGE FREDERICK MUGFORD

08 April 1929 – 10 June 2023

It is with great sadness that family of the late George Frederick Mugford announce his peaceful passing at WRH Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, June 10^th, 2023 at the age of 94 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and forever loving memories his children: Rita Callahan (Pat), Marie Murphy, Laura Caines (Jake), Gerry Mugford, Terence Mugford (Anne), Michael Mugford, & special niece Sammy Walsh. Brothers-in-law Francis Walsh (late Geraldine) & Ted Walsh, sisters-in-law, Margaret McCormack (late Tom), & Cora Walsh (late Gerald). Grandchildren, Kacey, Terimarie, Stephen, Danielle, Jamie, Nicole, Francesco & Mikayla aka Junior. Also, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends and his beloved cat, Blacky.

He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Rebecca Mugford (Nee Fowler), his beloved wife, Mary, son, Georgie, sister Jessie (late Tom), brothers-in-law, Jim Walsh (late Rosaleen), Joseph Walsh (late Sheila), Edmund Walsh (late Marie), and Ron Walsh (late Rella).

George was a proud Korean Veteran who served his country both in the Regular and Reserve Forces for 36 years and was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 13.

Visitation for family and friends Monday, June 12^th from 7pm to 9m at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue.

Funeral Mass will be held at All Hallows Parish on Tuesday, June 13^th at 10 am with Father Ed Terry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit at WRH are graciously accepted.
