It is with great sadness that the family of Maxwell Strickland announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Western Long Term Care Palliative Unit at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brothers: Junior (Rose), Jerome (Marilyn), Robert (Wanda) and Lyndon (Lisa); sisters: Cassie (Sam), Hazel (Raymond) and Bernice (Warren), as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Elizabeth Strickland, brothers Gerald and Melvin, sisters; Shirley (David) and Doreen (Bernard). The family would like to graciously thank the staff at Bay Shore Estates for the wonderful care and kindness shown toward Max for the last six years that he lived there, it was very much appreciated. We would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Palliative care unit for the excellent care and kindness that Max received while there for two weeks. The funeral service will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Effie Organ officiating.  Interment will follow at St. James Anglican church cemetery in Lark Harbor.  As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
