We only knew Orvan for a little while, but he certainly had a huge impact on our lives. My Mom and I became friends with Orvan while she was at Restorative Care in Corner Brook. My Mom, Margaret Fitzgerald, has had a hard year & 1/2 after losing her husband, her limb, her mobility, and now her home. So, in dealing with all these changes, her friendship with Orvan made life not just better but FUN! He always had a joke or a riddle to tell and my mom would laugh so much and then she would call me to tell me the joke. Of course, to add to the fun, my mom would sign me up as entertainment and Orvan would come out with us to sing and have a laugh. He would tell us all jokes and he was just a joy to be around, and it was just a few weeks ago that he named me "Kitty Twitty". Last Saturday he gave me homework. I had to learn to sing/play "The Tiny Red Light". and although I did my homework (lol) I never got to sing it for him but because I went out of town for the weekend. We are so saddened by his passing. The Restorative Care unit is like a little family. They all look out for each other and to say he will be missed is an understatement. Mr. Orvan Briffett... we are so honored to have known you and we wish you eternal peace. RIP Friend.
Love, Margaret Fitzgerald & Kitty Twitty
