The family of the late Walter Halbot are saddened to announce his passing at Happy Valley-Goose Bay on February 28, 2018 at the age of 85 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary (O’Neill); his children, Judy (Gary) Vickers, Wanda (Robert) Williams, Wayne (Elaine), Delia (Al) Connell and Kathy Blake (Neil, deceased); grandchildren Wendy, David, Kevin, Shannon, Marc, Kyle, Mandy, Julie, Jonathan, Sarah, Kristin, Heather and Elizabeth; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Harold, Gordon and Philip; sister, Ada; special friend, Amos Elliott, as well as a large circle of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Amelia Halbot, sisters, Peggy and Mona, and brothers, Arthur and Patrick. Friends may visit the family at Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Goose Bay on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 pm with Father Paul Kaunampilly officiating. Burial will take place in Deer Lake at a later date. The family wish to express their appreciation to Father Paul, Dr. Abadir, Nurse Christine Chaulk and the medical staff of the Labrador Health Center, as well as friends who visited. Donations in Walter’s memory may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace. Flowers are welcomed.
