Minnie Gibbons

December 17, 1941 – June 12, 2023

Age 81

Minnie Gibbons, a mother to daughters Marilyn (Troy), Michelle (Paul) and sons Marvin (Jackie) and Roger, passed away on June 12, 2023. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Sturgeon County, Alberta, surrounded by family.

Known for her big heart and smile, Minnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Minnie’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by sisters Daisy and Edith; sisters-in-law Myrtle, Carrie, Rachel and Gladys, and brother-in-law Lawrence. Grandchildren Andy (Krystal), Jayme, George, Peter, Amy, Alexander, Matthew, Ryder, Sam, Ashley, and great grandchildren Hailey, Kruz, and Avery; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Winston; parents Maude and Jobie Parsons; parents-in-law Edna and George Gibbons; sister Eliza and brothers Edgar, Levester, John and Clarence; sisters-in-law Nellie Coombs and Evelyn Parsons, and brothers-in-law Lowell Park, Isaac Gibbons, Jacob Gibbons, Stanley Hedge, and Roland Coombs; also her nephews Scottie, Jess, and John, and niece Nina.

A visitation will be held at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point on Sunday, July 2, 2023, with a service following on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Canon Terry Coates officiating. Interment to follow at the Pond Cove Cemetery.
