Calvin Gordon Ford Hurley

November 27, 1954 – June 23, 2023

Is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Calvin Gordon Ford Hurley, best friend, mentor and loving partner of Joanne Levison of Fredericton, NB.  Calvin passed away while attending a celebration of life of a dear friend in Stephenville, NL.

A true Newfoundlander born in Corner Brook in November 1954, he was the youngest son of the late Ford and Nellie Hurley.

Calvin is survived by his partner in life Joanne, sister Melva (Peter) Curtis, Fredericton, brothers Cluney (Donna), Harbour Grace, and Bonnell (Thelma), Herring Neck, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families along with numerous friends.

Calvin will be fondly remembered by sons Dan (Ashley) McCullough and Dave (Natalie) McCullough.  Papa will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Cameron, James, Archer, and Beau, all of Fredericton.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was predeceased by a daughter Eilidh.

Cremation has taken place.  Respecting Calvin’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  A celebration of life took place at the cabin in Too Good Arm, NL and one will take place in Fredericton in the near future. In memory of Calvin, please do something kind for someone or, if you wish, you may make a donation to your local food bank, homeless shelter or charity of your choice.

Please remember, there are no strangers, only friends we haven’t met yet.

Calvin will be sorely missed by family and friends.
