Norman Joseph Putt
September 16, 1939 – June 29, 2023
Pasadena, NL

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Norman Joseph Putt announce his peaceful passing on Thursday June 29, 2023, at the age of 83 years old on the Palliative Care Unit at Western Long Term Care.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife, Shirley of 62 years, his children: Norma (Roland), Pansy, Lucy, Eric, Juanita, Dennis (Carol), Steve, Amanda, Lisa and Kim. He is also survived by his siblings, a large circle of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was pre-deceased by his father, Timothy Putt, and his mother, Lucy Raymond.

Norm was a loving man who always put family and fur babies first. He was the definition of a hardworking man. His love of the outdoors was prominent in his everyday life. You could usually find him in the garage welding or “jimmy rigging” something, in the woods cutting logs, fishing the Humber, nursing wounded animals back to nature, and most importantly, teaching his grandchildren about the important things in life. Norm loved a good chat, gave the best advice, and was always ready with a witty comeback. He loved a homecooked meal, purity syrup and a nice cup of tea. His pockets overfilled with love, and a scattered scotch mint wrapped in tissue. If he offered you a mint, you knew you were well liked. His smile and memory will forever live on in all our hearts.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the doctors, nurses and staff of 4AB Unit at WMRH and the Palliative Care Unit, Western Long Term Care for their compassion and care.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. There will be visitation from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm on July 2nd, 2023, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Pasadena. The funeral will take place July 3rd, 2023, at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Pasadena. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the NL West SPCA or a charity of one's choice.
