It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elmer Archibald Mclean announces his passing on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Happy Valley-Goose Bay long-term care home. He was 79 years old.
He leaves to mourn his children Tammy (Larry) Barry, Fraser, Jason (Lise), Melody, Jeremy and Avis; 13 grandchildren Ashley, Alexis, Kayla, Mitchell, Jayden, Keaton, Kelsey, Melody, Cole, Zachary, Marshall, Dre, and Willow and Dakota, two great-grandchildren Mila and Naomi; He is also survived by his siblings Lily (Garfield) Bessey, Ross (Sue), Marilyn (Don) Campbell, and sister in laws Marie and Linda (Mclean)
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Ross and Avis (Goudie) McLean, siblings Pearl, Max, Eric, Leatrice, Doug, and Lloyd, sister-in-law Eleanora and bother in law Hughlett Clarke.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at long-term care. These last years have arguably been his best. He enjoyed crib games, social events and the light-hearted teasing he was known for. He loved his home there, and he regarded many as his family.
There will be a visitation at Fillatre Funeral Home, Happy Valley - Goose Bay, NL, on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, from the hours of 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, July 5th, at 11:00 at the United Church in Happy Valley-Goose Bay with Reverend Amber Tremblett officiating—interment to follow at the United Church cemetery. Following the funeral service, all are welcome to gather in the church annex for fellowship and refreshments.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Helping Hands social committee at long-term care.
