Vange was born in Eddie’s Cove West on a “maybe” stormy Valentine’s Day. She spent her early years growing up in Eddie’s Cove enjoying the simple joys of childhood in a place and time when everyone knew everyone and life seemed easy. She left Eddie’s Cove when she got married and moved to Hawke’s Bay and then on to Cormack where she settled and raised her family. She did various jobs throughout her life and met many people and made lots of friends that she cherished for a lifetime. Her home was always a place of a warm welcome, a hot cup of tea and a slice of fresh bread (guaranteeing a return visit) on your journey up the coast or down the coast, whichever direction your travels took you. She moved back to “The Manor” in Port Saunders in 1999 where she lived her retirement years, played many games of bingo, drank “to many to count” cups of tea and shared many laughs and stories that brought great joy to her life. May you think of her and the wonderful long life she lived with your hot cup of tea today.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre for their kindness and compassion.
