Obituary of Wayne Derek Morrison

Morrison, Wayne
April 4, 1950 - died October 3, 2022 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, NS.

Wayne was born in Corner Brook, NL where he grew up to be the recognizable “golden” voice on CFCB and CFSX radio. He would later take his golden voice to the airlines where he had a successful career in communications. Wayne was also a trailblazer in sustainability management - he could get 20 years out of a pair of underwear. Always one for a good laugh, he leaves behind a repertoire of jokes and one-liners.

Wayne is predeceased by his parents Christopher and Zena, his brother David, and brothers-
in-law Jim O’Brien and John Piercey.
 
He is survived by his daughter Lindsay Norman (Mark) in St. John’s, NL, his son Chris (Terri),
grandchildren Matthew, Andrew and Vera Morrison in Houston, TX.; siblings Valerie O’Brien,
Sandra Piercey and Roxie Dennis (Les) all in Corner Brook, NL, Robert Morrison (Rose)
Summerside, PEI and Colleen Morrison (Adrian) St. John’s, NL; special cousin Byron Mullet in Dartmouth, NS and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours at Parkview Manor. Especially his cherished friend, Nancy White, for whose love and care we will forever be grateful.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26 from the hours of 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, Corner Brook. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 27 at 10:00  a.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Chapel, St. Mark's Avenue with the Very Rev. Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
