Herbert Leonard Sheppard

October 24, 1945 – July 23, 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Herbert Sheppard on Sunday, July 23^rd, 2023 at Western Palliative Care, in his 77^th year, surrounded by his loving family.  He leaves with fond and loving memories, his wife of 57 years, Kay. Children, Rob (Marie), Kathy (Jaye), and Bill (Michelle).  Grandchildren, Julie (Evan), Norbert (Gila), Jessica, Robert, Michael (Dora), and Trevor. Great Grandchildren, Briana, Gregory, Charles, Scarlett, Skylar, Ethan, Alycia, Wyatt, and Gracie. Sisters and brothers, Margaret, Ann (Fred), Eric (Judy), and Ben (Wanda). Sisters-in-law, Lesley, Lorraine, and Betty and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Herbert was predeceased by his parents, George & Dorcas Sheppard, and parents-in-law, Wellesley & Daphne Smith.  Sister, Mary, brothers, Gideon, George and John, sister-in-law, Flora, brothers-in-law, Walter, Max, Mark, and Bob.  Grandson, Baby Boy Park.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Western Palliative Care, for the professional and loving care that they provided during his extended stay.  The kindness shown was beyond anything we could wish for or imagine.  A bond was made that will never be forgotten.  We would also like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Effie Organ, Rev. Canon David Russell, and Rev. Francis Elgar, for the many visits and prayers which offered much comfort during his illness.

In keeping with Herb’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25^th, 2023 at 7:00-9:00 at James Anglican Church.  Service will be held on Wednesday, July 26^th, 2023 at 3:00 with Rev, Effie Organ officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Herb’s memory can be made to the St. James Memorial Fund, Lark Harbour.
