It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elwin Charles Gillam of St. David’s announce his passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center in Stephenville Crossing on Wednesday, February 17th at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his wife Clara, Bay St. George Long Term Care Center; daughter Joyce (Daniel) McEachren, Spruce Grove, AB, sons: Carson (Jean), Spruce Grove, AB, Charles (Theresa), St. David’s, NL, Matthew (Gladys), Jeffrey’s, NL; grandchildren: Mark, Jason, Stephen, Heather, April, Sherman, Krista, Chantelle; great-grandchildren: Scotty, Gregory, Jesse, Regan, Felicia, Gavin, Shelby; brother Jerome (Mae), Stephenville, NL; sisters: Cora (Gerald) Fortune, St. David’s, Vera Alley, ON, Dulcie Matchem, ON, Dora Jay, ON as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Elwin and Alexena Gillam, son Scottie and sister Una. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday and Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon David Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in the Anglican Cemetery, St. David’s.
