March 02, 1946 – July 28, 2023
It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Hiram Lloyd Hutchings, at the age of 77 years old on July 28, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s.
Predeceased by his parents Ronald and Faith Hutchings of Cow Head. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Catherine (Cull), 3 beautiful girls Denise, Michelle (Greg) Kelly, Lori (Tony) Murphy; adored grandchildren Carter, Cameron and Alexandra; sisters Glenda (James) Gosse, Elizabeth (Morris) House, Paulette (Raymond) Roberts, Joy (William) Martin; brothers-in-law Otto (Audrey) Cull, Charles (Loretta) Cull, Corbett (Mary) Cull, David (Deborah) Cull; sisters-in-law Bernice (Donald) Chaffey, Christine Cull, several nieces, nephews and many life-long friends.
Anyone who knew Hiram (Hutch) would know he was a man of great character with his kind, gentle soul. He will be remembered with immense fondness for his unselfishness, integrity, honesty, and would give anything to anyone. He lived life to the fullest and deeply loved his family and friends. Those who have been touched by Hiram’s life, would understand the deep void our family is experiencing. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.
He loved to adventure on his skidoo in the winter and on his side by side in the summer. He loved to travel to Alberta to visit his 3 grandchildren and watch them grow and make new memories. Hiram worked on many projects around the world and met so many wonderful people. He could go anywhere and run into someone he knew from his work and travels.
A service will be held to honor Hiram on Thursday August 3rd, at 2:00 PM at St David’s Anglican Church at 11 Dawe Place in Pasadena with Reverend Kris Gosse officiating, with a post celebration of life gathering with refreshments at the Pasadena senior’s club at 14 10th Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society are being accepted. www.alzheimer.ca
