Obituary of Helena Vera Osmond

Helena Vera Osmond (nee Gale)
June 29, 1927 – August 6, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of the Late Helena Vera Osmond announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on August 6, 2023, at the age of 96 years.

She leaves to mourn her sons, Raymond Osmond (Lorie O’Brien), Guy Osmond (Valerie Genge), and Dean Osmond; daughters Loretta Heath, Marie Combdon (David), and Jennifer Pollard (Colin); daughter-in-law Olive Osmond; grandchildren Willie (Lorraine), Karen (Derrick), Josie (Chelsey), Earl (Nikki), Clayton (Carol Ann), Eugene (Renee), Jamie, Lisa, Todd, Glenda (Barry), Ada (Llew), Kyle, Jennifer (Colin), Khelia (Cory), Tyson (Hilary), Melanie (Dom), Andrew (Maddie), Ryan, and Dominique; 30 great grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Helena was predeceased by her husband Joesph; daughter Gladys Langford (Llewellyn); son Wilbert John Osmond; son-in-law James Heath, parents Simon and Mary Ann Gale; brothers Francis, Dorman, and Cecil; sisters Millicent, Gertrude, Betty; great-grandson Cameron Warford and nephew Lewis Lockyer.

The family would like to send a special Thank you to Helena’s homecare workers: Olive Osmond, Barbara Osmond, Nikki Schattler, Lorraine Langford, and Marion Regular. Also Thank you to the nurses and staff on the 1^st floor of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Anglican Church of the Epiphany, Hampden, NL on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from the hours 7:00 -9:00 pm and on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm, where also the funeral service will take place on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Charlene Laing officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery.
