It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Yvonne Payne announce her passing on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her 7 daughters: Wanda, Cox’s Cove, Alvina (Max), Cox’s Cove, Marina (Rod), Cox’s Cove, Yvonne (Ron), Point Clark, Ont., Winnie (Oscar), Kitchener, Ont., Emily (Jason), McIvers and Nancy (Ramsey), Cox’s Cove; grandchildren: Martin (Charlene), Trina (Todd), Samantha (Robert), Charlie (Serena), Steven (Marsha), Melissa (Emily), Michelle (Leslie), Victoria (Ben), Jacob (Marissa), Brianna, Martina (Drew) and Joshua (Teagan); great-grandchildren: Zachary (Tori), Haley (Matt), Ryan (Danielle), Lilly (Chris), Hannah, Chloe, Jenica, Sommer, Lincoln, Evie and Willow; sister Ethel Park, Cox’s Cove; brother Russell (Louise) Park, Brampton, Ont., sister-in-law Judy Payne, Cox’s Cove; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Cyril Payne, son John, parents Harold and Emily Park, parents-in-law Henry and Winnifred Payne, baby grandson Jason White, son-in-law John Barnes, brothers Harold, Willie and Dave, sisters Evelyn, Mavis, and Ada, sister-in-law Hilda Park, brothers-in-law Charlie Payne, Eugene Park, and George Crane, as well as family members Phil and Annie Payne.

Friends and family may visit St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., as well as Monday, August 14, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. George Critchell officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
