In Jane’s own words “Don’t cry for me, I’m free of pain”… as we announce the passing of Jane Barry (Legge), mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Born in Heatherton on January 10, 1947. Jane was the child of Minetta and Wilson Legge. She is survived by her sons Melvin (Edith) and Sheldon (Lisa), her grandchildren Brittany, Odie, and Allie and “daughter by choice” June, and brothers Chelsey and George. She was predeceased by her brothers Charlie and Joe and her sisters Beatrice, Grace, Georgina, and Ada.

Jane was a devoted Catholic and church volunteer, loved playing darts and cards and was an avid reader until her Rheumatoid Arthritis prevented her from those desires. She was a very proud, independent, strong and stubborn lady determined to be her own person. Her family was her whole life and meant everything to her.

Graveside burial service only on Thursday 24 August 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heatherton Roman Catholic Cemetery.
