April 3, 1941 – August 19, 2023

It is with saddened hearts that the family of the Late Shirley Blanche Eveleigh announce her passing on August 19, 2023, at the age of 82 years.

She leaves to mourn her children Donna Osmond (Rendell), Barbara Gale (John William), and Alvin Eveleigh (Joyce); grandchildren Terrilynn Osmond (Shawn), Robyn Norris (Kirk), Duncan Osmond, and Neil Osmond; great-grandchildren Sarah Osmond, Sophie Osmond, Isla Osmond, Jaden Norris, and Rylan Norris; siblings Ramona Wells (Daniel), Francis Banks (Dulcie), Bert Banks (Ramona), Wayne Banks (Sandra), Howard Banks (Rose), and Doreen Kelly; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Clarence; parents George and Myrtle (Eveleigh) Banks; son Craig Eveleigh; sister Rowena Hamlyn; daughter-in-law Michelle Eveleigh; brother Clyde Banks; and brother-in-law George Kelly.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to community support staff Melissa Fifield, Alison Judd, and Stephanie Hynes; acute care nurses Madonna and Gennine; the nurses at Western Long-Term Care Palliative Unit; and homecare workers Donna Reid and Martha Ryland. Your care and compassion for mom will never be forgotten. Also thank you to everyone who is supporting us during this difficult time.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Pentecostal Church in Hampden, NL on Monday, August 21, 2023, from the hours of 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same location on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Calvin Andrews officiating. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, Interment will follow at the Hampden United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted.
