The family of Calvin Nichols announce his passing on September 3, 2023, at the age of 88 years. 

Calvin built a blessed life with his wife of 66 years, Edna. Together they created a home, became successful entrepreneurs, and raised four loving children.

Left to mourn are his daughters, Cindy (Paul Knott) and Angela Chynn; grandchildren Joanne (Nigel Brake), Teela Nichols (Josh O'Connell), Justin Chynn, Samantha Chynn, and Reisha Knott; great-grandchildren Bailey and Michael Nichols, Soleil Young, Wesley Brake, Frankie and Dylan Brake; great great-grandchildren Isabella, Carter, and Amara; brothers Melvin (Grace) Nichols, Wayne (Madonna) Nichols, and Terry (Georgina) Nichols; sisters Sharon (Randy Goobie), and Irene Thomas; and sister-in-law Alma Nichols. Also mourned by his in-laws, Melva (Reginald Hillier), Nellie Adams and Vera Boyle.

He was predeceased by his wife Edna (September 2022); sons Craig and Darren; infant great-grandchildren Autumn and Freya Chynn; parents George Roy Nichols and Rita Guinchard; brothers Ivan (Joan) Nichols and Bruce Nichols; sisters Nellie (Moses Smith) and Alice (Jim Kelly); brother-in-law Garland Thomas; and in-laws Gus Adams, Bob Boyle, Jean and Jud Bursey.

A special mention to his neighbours Scott and Bobbie Woodward who he also considered as family.

A Celebration of Life will be led by his grand daughter at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 8th, 2023, at Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Deer Lake.
