Dominic A. Hickey Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL Passed away after an extremely courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 7th, 2010, Dominic Hickey of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador, originally from Flatrock, NL – age 76. Devoted wife of 53 years, Helen (nee Dawe) of St. John’s, NL. Father to : Mike (Eileen) children Laurie, Bernard; Tony (Jackie), sons Terry, Travis; Alice Marie (Bob) of Ottawa son Brandon; Frank (Sandra) of Toronto children Jackson, Leah, Jacob, Michael; Tammy of Fredericton sons Jordon-Lee, Johnathon and their father Rory; Nick (Lynn) and son Brady. Two very special great grandchildren Liam and Brooklyn. Dominic worked in Goose Bay from 1952-54 and moving to Goose Bay in 1957 where he was employed by the American Air Force for 16 years at the air base. In 1972 Dominic left the air base and formed his own company, Hickey Construction Limited, which is owned and operated today by his sons. Although retired, Dominic refused to quit! Dominic never forgot his many friends and family residing in Flatrock, NL especially brother John, sister Jen (Henderson), sister in law Theresa Morey and brother in law Edward Waterman. Dominic is predeceased by his sister Christine.
