It Is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael John McDonald announce his passing on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 55 years Patricia (nee Hunt); brothers and sisters: James McDonald, Ishbelle LeBlanc (Gilbert), Judy Bale (Ted-deceased), Loretta Gallant (David-deceased), Pauline Allen (Don-deceased), Kenneth McDonald (Mary) and Arlene McDonald; sisters-in-law: Carrie McDonald, Caroline Russell (Woodrow), Irene Joyce (Kenneth-deceased) and Eileen Sheppard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James and Margaret (Robertson) McDonald, brothers Edward, Bernard and Leo McDonald, sister Juanita Dower (Frank), parents-in-law Thomas and Ruth Hunt, sisters-in-law Lena Wells (Arthur) and Amanda George. Cremation has taken place, visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday, September 18 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Patricia Cemetery Niche Wall. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request.
