Beatrice Legge

1940 - 2023

We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Beatrice Irene Legge, on 16 September 2023 at Sir Thomas Roderick hospital, Stephenville. She was the daughter of Francis and Susan Fillatre born on 15 Oct 1940 in Mckays, NL. She is survived by her children June (Terry MacMullen) Frenchvale NS, Francis, Antigonish, Avery, Heatherton, Leona (Scott Renouf) Robinsons, Charlotte (Kenzie Monroe) North Sydney, Roy , Heatherton.  Her nine grandchildren Kyle (Ellen), Courtney (Gorman), Cody (Angel), Colton (Erica), William (Felicia), Charles, Cheryl (Kingsley), Emily (Devon), and Derrick. Her five great grandchildren Charlie, Kyle, Cyndel, Izzie, and Addie. Her brother Roy (Lottie) McKays as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 28 years Charlie and later her partner Allen MacPherson. Her brothers Edmond, Billy, sisters Martha and Leona (her best friend) and daughter in law Peggy. She worked hard as a farmer day in and day out along side our dad in the gardens for many years.  She loved to go to dances (often being the driver for all her buddies), senior socials, playing cards, and bingo.  She was always in favor of a get together with family and friends with a whiskey and or a beer.  We would like to thank the staff of Stephenville and Corner Brook Hospital for their excellent care over the years to our mom and to the TLC staff especially her special friend and full time caregiver Jeannie Butt and also to Betty.  To Jeannie, Brian and Jane Roberts who went above and beyond your help and support will never be forgotten. And in memory of mom if you so wish donations could be sent to St. Georges Anglican Church Robinsons or Diabetic Association. Visitation will be held at St George’s Anglican Church Robinsons on 20 September from 7-9 pm with funeral at 2 pm on 21 September, Rev. Norman Cutler Officiating.
