Janet Tucker

November 27, 1926 – September 21, 2023

Frenchman’s Cove, NL

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Aunt, Janet Tucker, at the Western Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, at the age of 96 years, on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Although never having the privilege of being called Mom, she was a precious aunt, who was loved dearly, and considered to be a second mom to her many nieces and nephews and extended family. Aunt Janet always thought of everyone in her family first and had to ensure that all was okay with each one. Aunt Janet provided care for people her whole life beginning with her parents and parents-in-law, brother, sisters, and friends. She never complained about anything in her life and even in her darkest moments, everything was always “good”. She loved to knit and bake and could whip out a pair of socks and raspberry pie on any given day.

Leaving to mourn with the fondest  of memories are Nina Blackwood; Eric MacDonald (Mabel); Calvin Macey (Hilda); Loretta Cornelius (Calvin); Mary Lake (Don); Wayne Barnes (Lisa); Marion Evoy (Floyd); Barb Hickey (Paul); Roberta Pottle (Shawn); Lance Blackwood; Tina Blackwood (Wilson); Melissa Blackwood; CJ King Blackwood; Skye Blackwood; Eric Blackwood; Emma Blackwood; Morgan Reid; Wesley Reid; Kevin MacDonald (Amy); Victoria MacDonald (Mike); Courtney Cornelius (Steve); Brittany Hillier (Will); Donnie Lake (Kathleen); Sandra Burns (Tim); Tanya Lake; Jordan Barnes (Elizabeth); Matthew Barnes (Megan); Nicole Mackenzie (Jon), Tawnya Laplante (Troy); Tawsha Evoy; Paul Blanchard; Natalie Blanchard; Angela Lidstone (Jamie); Nicole Wayson (Matt); Joanna Pottle (Justin); Nathaniel Pottle as well as a large number of extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband John Tucker; parents Charlie and Annie Macey; sisters Lavinia MacDonald and Evelyn Barnes; brother John Macey; brothers-in-law Ernest MacDonald and Harry Barnes; niece Marie Killeen; nephew George Barnes; and special friends Florence Allen and Rose and Nathaniel Hickey.

The family would like to extend a very special Thank you to the staff, nurses and doctors at the Western Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and concern shown to Aunt Janet.  It did not go unnoticed.
