Obituary of Cecilia Plowman

May 14, 1954 - September 24, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cecilia (Sis) Plowman announce her passing on Sunday, September 24th, 2023 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre at the age of 69.  She leaves to mourn her husband of 52 years, Stanley Plowman;  Children:   Monica (Bud) of Port au Choix, Tina (Trevor) of Fort McMurray, Fabian (Aylesha) of Edmonton; Grandchildren:  Marcus, Tyler (Micheala), Andrew, Aaron, Abbie;  Mother Veronica Plowman; Siblings:  Sybil Caines (Whyman), Mary Tucker (Noah), Harrison Plowman (Brenda), Louise Applin (Terrance), Frank  Plowman, John Plowman (Shirley), Wanda Baines (Max), Tony Plowman (Vina), Todd Plowman (Trish);  Sisters-in-law:   Alice Plowman, Selina Critchley, Madeline Breen, Rita Kennedy, Olive Genneaux ( Vince), Genevieve Plowman; Brothers-in-law:  Edward Plowman (Hilda), Martin (Josephine) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and special friend Jocelyn Kennedy.  

Predeceased by:  father Francis Plowman, brother Junior Plowman, parents-in-law Ebbert and Mary Plowman, brothers-in-law: Cliff Caines, Nelson Plowman, Douglas Kennedy, John Critchley.

Cecilia was known for spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed walking, playing cards, knitting, playing bingo and relaxing at the cabin.

She will be forever missed.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre for their continuous care.  Also to Bonnie and Helen from the chemo unit at the Charles S.  Curtis Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church, in Port au Choix, NL on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 @ 2pm-9pm and Wednesday, September 27, 2023 @ 2pm - 9pm / Family Service 7pm-9pm

Funeral Mass / Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 2pm with Father Raj officiating.  Interment to follow at the Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery, Port Saunders, NL.
