It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dora Dorothy Young of Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland. Dora passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010, following a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Philomena and George Young of St. Teresa’s. Dora leaves behind her siblings: Yvonne (Edward) Cormier of St. Teresa’s, Roy (Angela) Young of Stephenville and Jean Muise of St. Georges. She will be dearly missed by a special friend of the family Nolan Young, her children: Carol Ann (Andrew) Hickey of Flat Bay, Nancy Young of Saint John, New Brunswick, Joseph “Clarky” (Pauline) Young of Stephenville and Veronica “Vonnie” (Harvey) Young of Barachois Brook. Two adoring great grandchildren: Spencer and Skyler Cormier of Stephenville, in addition to many wonderful nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Dora was predeceased by her brothers: Percy and Raymond Young, also of St. Teresa’s and her great granddaughter baby Hannah Babb. Dora’s generous ways and caring nature was reflected in all she did. Whether it was offering a cup of tea and a lunch or just sitting for a chat, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Resting at Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing, there will be visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
