It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert “Bob” Pius Beals announce his passing on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Western Long Term care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 57 years, Arlene (nee Kelloway); daughter Cynthia (Ken) Alcock; grandchildren: Kenneth “K.J.” Alcock (Angela Aniol) and Letitia-Leigh Alcock; great-grandson Christopher Aniol; brothers and sisters: twin brother Bill Beales, Doug (Donna) Beales, Gene (Evelyn) Beales, Trudy (George) Parsons and Margie Beales; brothers and sisters-in-law: Stanley Kelloway, Lillian (Jake) Hillier, Daisy (Lambert) Burke, Eli (Dorothy) Kelloway, Edward Brake and Neta Kelloway; aunt Bernice White; special Goddaughter Judy Brake; lifelong friends: Joe (Margie) Pennell, Jack Pennell, John Carroll, Jr. Day, Don Locke, Emerson and Barbara Ralph, Larry and Dale Johnson; as well as a large  circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jerome and Elsie (nee Pynn) Beales, brother Fred (Ruby) Beales; sisters-in-law Emma Beales, Margaret Kelloway and Daphne Brake, parents-in-law Eli and Jessie (nee Vincent) Kelloway.

Over the years Bob was very active in his community with a strong volunteer ethic. He was a member of Scouts Canada as a leader at the First St. Michael’s Scout Group in Curling. Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. A member of the Salvation Army Men’s Fellowship and volunteered with the Corner Brook Food Bank. A special thank you to Dr. Farzaneh, Dr. O’Driscoll, the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Lafferty, Dr. Peacock, Dr. White, Dr. Boley and nurses for their exceptional care.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday, October 4 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Parish, Curling Street with Father Lee Lainey & Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Niche Wall. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit https://westernhealth.nl.ca/make-a-donation/ or the Food Bank.
