Rachel Ropson
April 24, 1942 – October 3, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Rachel Ropson (nee Pittman) announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on October 3, 2023, at the age of 81 years.

She leaves to mourn with the best memories, her husband of 63 years, Winston; children Pam (Roger), Karen (Bruce) Chris (Karen) and Gaye (Edgar); grandchildren Amanda, Damian, Jeremy, Michael, Bradley, Justin, Megan, and David; also, many great-grandchildren that she loved and adored.

Rachel was a friend to everyone she met. She absolutely loved visits and card games with her family and friends, sharing a lunch and “a little chat” – she treasured those times. Harbour Deep was her treasured home where she was born, grew up, married, and raised her family.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook and to the Health Science Center in St. Johns for your care and compassion.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Friday, October 6, 2023, from the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 pm, during which a Memorial Service will begin at 3:30 pm with Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten officiating. All are welcome to attend.  Flowers will graciously be accepted.
