Obituary of Patrick Rich

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Patrick Rich announce his passing on October 8th, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, NL at the age of 69 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Roxanne(Douglas), Denice(Wendell), Frances(Kenny), Ian(Donna), Desmond(Brenda), Lisa Marie, Patrick(Sheena),  Edward George, Antonia, Rebecca and Nanshi(Makan); his traditionally adopted children: Glendene, Allen, Kendall, Uapush, Rachel Gregoire, Dominic Antuan and Eugene Hart; his 35 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters: Kathleen Benuen and Rita Rich: brother: Michael Jack as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Patrick was predeceased by his wife: Germaine; his parents: Edward and Adeline Rich; his son: Joey Penunsi; his grandchildren: Jamie Mikun and Jamie Morgan; his sisters: Suzanne, Angela and Nellie; and his brothers: Joseph and Matthew.

Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL on Tuesday, October 10^th, 2023, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place at Patricks’ home, 56 Mackenzie Drive in Sheshatshiu, on Wednesday, October 11^th, 2023, starting at 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 12^th at 11:00 am at Tshitshitua Shushep church in Sheshatshiu, NL with Father Joe officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
