It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emma Cook announce her peaceful passing while surrounded by her loving family at the Palliative Care Home on October 10, 2023, at the age of 77 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her children: Kimberley (Danny), Ronald (Melissa) (Toby), and Tracy; grandchildren: Kayla (Tim), Ashley (John), Brandon (Makayla), Jonathan, Taylor (Dustin), Felicia, Cameron, Zachariah, and Abel; great-granddaughter: Lilly; and a very special family friend Lisa; and brother: Ken (predeceased by Doreen), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Emma was predeceased by her husband: Ronald Cook; parents: Arthur and Lillian Wheeler; brothers: Simeon, Albert, George, Joel (Jean), Jack (Sylvia), Floss (Roy), and Henry (surviving spouse Evelyn).

Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, October 12, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13 at 2:00pm from the Salvation Army Citadel, 36 Clarence Street. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted, or donations may be made to the NL West SPCA.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital’s Orthopedic Unit (2D). A very sincere thank you to the compassionate staff at the Western Long Term Care Home’s Palliative Care Unit. Also, a very special thank you to the staff at the Lohnes Complex where Emma resided before her passing.
